My name is Helena and I am a qualified Reflexologist Level 3 Diploma (ITEC) 2022 and practising Midwife, BSc (Hons) 2015 . I have completed a Maternity Reflexology qualification ad support women during pregnancy, during and after birth. I can also offer Indian head massage. I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists UK. I currently offer a mobile service and I am based at a clinic in Halsemere, Surrey on a Tuesday (Clinic on the Hill) and Wednesday's in Grayshott (Younique Beauty).
I am a mother to a happy little boy who loves having his feet massaged. We both enjoy exploring the outdoors, finding a quiet spot to camp and I especially enjoy an early morning swim followed by a hot coffee.
For me Reflexology is ‘me’ time. It is about forgetting about the little niggles, switching off and embracing the sensations that you feel during and after the treatment. I regularly see a wonderful therapist who always makes me feel welcome and calm. I always look forward to my time, I come away feeling beautifully relaxed and this is what I hope to offer to my clients.
My Mum has always encouraged us to embrace therapies that make you feel good. She has seen a Reflexologist for over 30 years and loyally continues to see her as well as booking in with me. Reflexology for me has helped ease anxiety, it fills me with oxytocin (the love hormone) and allows me to deeply relax and let go. My son, who is 5 occasionally lets me massage his feet and I watch as his little body slowly relaxes letting go of emotions he has stored. The benefits are beautiful and I really encourage you to book in no matter of your age, health or something that will be just for you.
I have treated many clients for anxiety, tension, problems with sleep, digestive issues, menstrual cycle issues, headaches and pregnancy related conditions.
Reflexology is a wonderful complementary therapy that treats the feet and sometimes hands; with gentle massage and manipulation of reflex points. It is clinically proven to help decrease stress and anxiety. It allows you to relax and release, to let go of any tension or anxiety that you are holding onto in your body and mind. With the treatment I hope to help clear physical and emotional energies that have built up in the body and stopped your body’s systems from working effectively. It can support with an existing heath condition and allow you to relax and let go of any stress or worries that have built up.
In reflexology the feet and hands map out the body and internal organs and are linked to those organs by energy channels, zones or meridians. When illness, stress or trauma occurs in the body, the corresponding energy channels become blocked and Reflexology is applied to breakdown and clear these blockages, allowing the energy to flow freely again; restoring the body's natural balance and therefore good health. Using gentle pressure and manipulating pressure points helps me to find imbalances within systems in the body. Working these areas regularly can bring a sense of natural balance to the body and overall well-being. It is a lovely calming, relaxing treatment that supports and nurtures your body holistically.
I like to provide my clients with an individual holistic treatment in a calm and safe space. It is a time for you to switch off from day to day tasks, to surrender to your emotions and to just be in that moment of calm which will have an impact on your well being going forward. I provide a safe non judgemental environment for my clients, a space to connect and let go.
Reflexology does not claim to cure problems; it works to help the body to reach a sense of equilibrium a feeling of relief from painful ailments, finding your mood and sense of wellbeing improving, feeling energised with more vitality.
I offer reflexology to all ages and hope to provide a calm and relaxing environment for each client that I treat.
I am passionate about women’s health and supporting women during their pregnancy; with my Maternity Reflexology I am hoping to offer support to all members of the family through the changes that happen along their journey; to promote a sense of calm and to encourage a natural rhythm again for the body, mind and soul to work in harmony with each other.
Following your treatment you may notice that you feel more tired; that some of your symptoms feel worse; or you need to go to the loo more often. These are all positive signs that your body is responding and balancing itself. In the nest 24- 48 hours please drink plenty of water to help flush out waste products from your body and improve your energy levels.
You may also experience after a treatment a ‘Healing crisis”.
It is temporary, but if anything last for over 24-48 hours please seek medical advice if it is extreme.
It can occur immediately after a treatment, a few days and sometimes several weeks.
A healing crisis occurs when the body tries to eliminate toxins at a faster rate than they can be disposed of. This reaction signifies that the reflexology treatment is working and the body is going through the process of clearing toxins and balancing itself.
Everyone’s body is unique and may react in different ways but these are some common symptoms typical of a healing crisis.
NB: My professional code of conduct does not permit me to diagnose, prescribe or claim to cure. Reflexology works on an individual basis, and people can respond in different ways. It is hugely relaxing and I would encourage you to book to see if you enjoy and feel it’s benefit. Reflexology does have an accumulative effect therefore it is usually tailored to a clients needs.
